Degree Apprenticeship - Civil Engineer

Coast are offering a fantastic opportunity to budding, young engineers this September! Why not consider a Degree Apprenticeship within our Civil Engineering team? You will spend most of your time working alongside our senior engineers and technicians at our Cramlington office, getting involved in all aspects of the job, providing professional services to the construction industry. 

One day each week, you will attend university to work towards a degree in Civil Engineering. The degree is accredited by the Institution of Civil Engineers and will lead to Ieng membership. Coast fully covers your university fees and pay you a salary, plus we will support you every step of the way. We are seeking high calibre, enthusiastic individuals – so if this is you, get in touch!

About Us

Coast Consulting Engineers are an established multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy, with in house Structural, Civil and Geotechnical teams. We value growth and learning and will nurture you on your learning journey. 

The successful candidates will, amongst other things, be responsible for:

  • Drafting and detailing of engineering layouts.

  • Assisting team members in the production of engineering packages for planning, costing and construction purposes.

  • The opportunity to work within our Geotechnical and Structural Engineering teams to broaden experience.

  • Following completion of the degree qualification, progress towards a professional qualification (Ieng/Ceng).

Qualifications and Experience

Education base level from the following options:

  • A level education, including Maths (grade B minimum) and predicted a minimum of 112 UCAS points.

  • NVQ Level 3 in Civil Engineering.

  • HNC in Civil Engineering.

Applicants must also have 

  • English and Maths GCSE Grade 7 or above.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Full clean driving licence and transport is essential.

Additional Information

Two positions are available

  • 6 year apprenticeship

  • Training is provided in partnership with the University of Teesside

  • Start Date is 2nd September once exam results have been verified

  • Closing date for applications is 23rd July 2024

  • 35 hours per week

  • Salary is £16k pa, reviewed annually.
